Ellen Koskinen-Dodgson is one of the two founders of TMC. She is a graduate of Electrical Engineering of the University of Calgary and entered the telecommunications field as a design engineer for Alberta Government Telephones. Subsequently she joined Edmonton Telephones as a long range planning engineer and supervisor. She was then recruited by Microtel Pacific Research as a senior systems engineer where she was an early participant in ISDN development. She joined Gatling Communications Inc. in 1985 as Director of Strategic Planning, leaving to co-found TMC in 1988.
Ms. Koskinen-Dodgson is Membership Vice President of the CTCA (Canadian Telecommunications Consultants Association), and is working to raise the standards in the telecommunications consulting industry in Canada.
She's also a member of the Canadian Information Processing Society and the Canadian Hospital Engineering Society. She's a member and founding Chairman of the Edmonton and Vancouver Computer Chapters of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Ellen brings to her clients an in-depth knowledge of voice and data communications technologies and trends. She has helped a wide range of clients in a variety of areas including, strategic telecommunications planning, needs analysis, system redesign, staff operational evaluation, system tendering and project management. Her areas of practice are data communications (local and wide area), telephone systems, networking (including telecommuting), wiring systems, and voice processing.
She is a frequently invited speaker on a variety of technology and strategic planning topics. She has conducted voice and data communications technologies seminars throughout North America.
She is a technology writer for the Globe & Mail newspaper as well as other newspapers and industry journals. She is co-publisher of The Advisor magazine.
