After receiving his Applied Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, Gary Zielke began his twenty plus years in telecommunications in engineering and marketing positions. These were with the Xerox Corporation, General Electric and G.T.E.
As manager of network services for one of the G.T.E. operating companies, Mr. Zielke participated in the development and implementation of two nationwide digital networks in Canada. These were Dataroute (the first nationwide digital data network in the world), and Datapac, a packet switching network with interconnections to the U.S. and other countries.
As a consultant, he has developed several computerized design tools to aid in the analysis of network performance and topological optimization.
Mr. Zielke is registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and Ontario and is the author of several published papers on network design.
Mr. Zielke's area of specialization is advanced network design.
He has used these skills to assist many organizations in the public and private sectors to plan and implement voice and data networks.
Mr. Zielke has been giving public and in-plant seminars on various aspects of data communications since 1979.
His attendees number in the thousands and he was one of the first to provide a public seminar on data communications via satellite.
