ACHIEVEMENTS

Peter has extensive experience with the effects of regulatory changes; as well as with engineering private networks, data communications, Packet Switched networks, microwave & optical lines, Cellular Radio and ISDN.

He developed an integrated nationwide Service Management organisation for British Telecom; with a network of 27 sites each using multiple computers on Local Area Networks and linked by a fully protected Wide Area Network.

He moved into Sales Support for major customers and engineered many improvements in service provision timescales. His clients included the Thomas Cook Travel Agency, who contracted for a major upgrade to their global communications network; several mail-order warehouse distributors, who were switching to real-time stock control; and the two largest retail supermarket chains, who were integrating stock control and EFT using ISDN. He was the Project Manager of the communications services for the 1991 Rugby World Cup.

He has been keen to use telecommunications services to replace frequent travel and pioneered many experiments in telecommuting with teams in the North, Midlands and Southern England.
