Richard Parkinson began his three decades in telecommunications with the British Columbia Telephone Company.
After gaining experience in Marketing, he was given the opportunity to assist in the design of both voice and data communications systems.
Later, after joining a national consulting firm, he designed and implemented a 100 branch on-line banking network.
After moving into the educational area, he developed his comprehensive telecommunications knowledge further.
As a result, he has been retained by such prestigious organizations as IBM, NASA, Bell Labs and A.T.&T. for advice on the issues of voice and data communications technology and networking.
Mr. Parkinson has been in the role of user, vendor, and consultant, giving him a unique perspective on voice and data problems.
This experience has led him to design and implement a great variety of telecommunications systems and networks.
Because of his unique dual talents in voice and data telecommunications, other consultants often call on him to lend his expertise in the area of voice/data integration.
Mr. Parkinson regularly conducts telecommunications technology seminars across North America and internationally.
He has written many technical papers and technology articles, and has been frequently quoted in major American and Canadian trade publications.
